Kieran Millan made the start and had 28 saves. The first goal allowed, scored by UMass defenseman Darren Rowe, came on an apparent deflection in front, while the second goal came as a result of blown coverage that left a man alone in front. Freshman goaltender Jeff Teglia played well for UMass, saving 33 of 35 shots as the BU outshot the Minutemen.
