Game Day: BU visits New Hampshire



The #11 Terriers travel to Durham to meet the #14 Wildcats tonight. Game time is 7 p.m. with game being televised on WBIN and Fox College Sports Pacific.  BU ended New Hampshire’s season last March, clinching the Hockey East quarterfinal series with a double-overtime 5-4 win. BU also had swept the regular season series.Payback seems to be a motivator for the Wildcats, according to game previews in the Concord Monitor and Foster’s.

Sahir Gill (photo), with nine points in seven games, and Matt Nieto, with six points in eight games, are BU’s top returning scorers against UNH.

BU has the best record of any UNH opponent at the Whittemore Center— 11-8-5 (.564)

Freshman Sean Maguire will make his first collegiate start in goal for BU. The rest of the lineup is the same as last week.

Looking back
2009 Hobey Baker Award winner Matt Gilroy scored a pair of power play goals for the Connecticut Whale in a 5-4 OT loss to Norfolk.

Alex Chiasson, last year’s top BU scorer, picked up his first AHL goal in the Texas Stars’ 5-1 loss to Houston. Charlie Coyle scored his second goal of the season for Houston  Chiasson talked about the game and his goal for Stars TV.

Women’s Team
The #3-ranked Terriers host a two-game series with #2 Cornell, the team that ousted them from last Spring’s NCAA tournament in an 8-7 triple overtime game. Tonight’s game, a 7 p.m. start, is at Agganis Arena The women’s team is playing an evening game at that venue for the first time.The teams meet again on Sunday at Walter Brown Arena with puck drop at 2 p.m.
