Game Day: BU vs. Team USA at Walter Brown Arena--UPDATED

The BU men’s hockey team makes its first return to its former home, Walter Brown Arena, in nearly 10 years tonight as it takes on the U.S. Junior National Team. The game is the third and final exhibition game on the Terriers schedule. Game time is 7:30 p.m., ET, and the contest will be streamed live, free of charge, on Terrier TV.

This will be BU’s first-ever game against the Junior National Team. Earlier this season, the Terriers defeated the US NTDP U18s, 6-4, at Agganis Arena and in previous years, BU teams have played exhibition games against Olympic squads.

BU completed the first semester of regular season play with an 11-3-2 overall record and a 7-1-2 mark in Hockey East, as well as the #1 ranking in the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.

BU will be without its top scorer, freshman Jack Eichel, who has switched jerseys and will skate on Team USA’s top line with Alex Tuch of BC and Tyler Motte of Michigan. He’ll also wear the “C” for Team USA.  Eichel is currently the Division 1 co-leader in points with 27 points and the leader in points-per-game (1.69), assists (19) and plus/minus (+21).
