Terrier freshman Jack Eichel was named captain of Team USA for the upcoming World Junior Championships. Denver’s Will Butcher and Yale’s John Hayden will wear the A.

Team USA plays its final pre-tourney exhibition tonight against Sweden in Kingston, Ontario. After sitting out Sunday’s exhibition against Germany, Eichel will center the top line with Alex Tuch and Jeremy Bracco. Puck drops at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on FASTHockey.com

The Ottawa Citizen reports that Alex Chiasson is seeking a long-term contract with the Senators. The 6-4 wing, who was MVP of the Terriers in 2011-12, was acquired in the offseason from Dallas and has a 7-8-15 scoring line.
