Freshmen Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson and Charlie McAvoy have
been named to Hockey East’s 2016 All-Rookie team. JFK, who centers BU’s top
line has a 10-19-29 scoring line, while McAvoy, the Terriers’ top-scoring
blueliner has a 3-21-24 line. Both have earned Rookie of the Week honors. JFK and McAvoy become the 39th and 40th Terriers to have made Hockey East All-Rookie teams over the years.

2018 recruit Tyler Weiss scored twice and set up the game-winning goal in double overtime Tuesday night as the Don Mills Flyers Major
Midgets won their play-in game for the 2016 OHL Cup, defeating the Kitchener
Jr. Rangers, 4-3. With the Flyers trailing 3-1, Weiss, who
earned game MVP honors, scored once in the second period and once in the third
to knot the score at 3-3.
This morning Weiss scored a goal and added two assists as
the Flyers routed the London Nights, 6-2,
in their first OHL Cup game. Weiss, who now has 59 (26G, 33A) points in 47
games, will head to NTDP Evaluation Camp in Michigan this weekend along with future
Terriers Jake Wise, Jack DeBoer and Joel Farabee.

Looking back
On Sunday May 1, 2016, three members of Boston
University’s hockey family with be inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.
Coach Jack Kelley (1962-1972), Doug Friedman (1990-1994), and Travis Roy
(1995-1999) will be honored together at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor,
Maine.
