Hockey East's flex schedule now has the Terriers playing a home-and-home against UMass this weekend, after Lowell was forced to pause its program.
Senior assistant captain David Farrance earned co-defensive player of the week honors from Hockey East after ringing up five points (G,4A) in BU’s weekend split with Providence to launch its long-delayed season.
Last season, the left-shot defenseman from Victor, N.Y., led the Terriers in scoring with 43 points (14G,29A). He also was the top point-scoring and goal-scoring blueliner in Division 1 and earned first-team All-American honors. His nine power-play goals also was best for all defensemen.
Freshman wing Luke Tuch who scored a goal and an assist on Friday was named to the weekly top performers’ list. His goal came on a one-timer following a slick pass from Farrance.
Looking back
Former Terrier and NHL defenseman Eric Gryba joined Associate Athletic Director for Marketing & Communications Brian Kelley for a Terriers Tuesday--Alumni Edition conversation. The Saskatoon native was one of six BU defensemen on the 2009 national championship team to play in the NHL, along with Matt Gilroy, Kevin Shattenkirk, Brian Strait, Colby Cohen and David Warsofsky. Best known for his thunderous hits--and lots of penalties--Gryba played seven NHL seasons with Ottawa, Edmonton and New Jersey.

He got an invite to Flyers camp, pushing the number of Terriers in NHL camps to 25, tied with @UNDmhockey for the most of any school.#ProudToBU https://t.co/gYEUzQbfZ3
