Team USA won its quarterfinal match against Czechia, 3-0, sending Coach David Quinn's squad into the semifinals. They'll face Germany on Saturday in Tampere, Finland, with puck drop set for 11:20 a.m. ET.
Lane Hutson had the primary assist on the first goal, scored by Matt Coronato. Nick Bonino appeared to have an assist on Team USA's second goal, having won an offensive zone draw, but it wasn't credited.
NHL.com's Aaron Vickers caught up with Hutson to discuss his experiences at the Worlds and also spoke with Quinn and Coronato about the 19-year-old defenseman.

In the other semifinal,Canada will play Latvia, who upset Sweden, 3-1, on home ice in Riga. Latvia will now have a chance to play for a medal for the first time ever.
BU's only Latvian player, defenseman Jakabs Redhlis, skated in the World Championships in 2008. He spent four seasons on the Terriers blueline from 2002-2006 and was part of BU's 2006 Hockey East champions. Redhlis went on to a long pro career in the AHL and several European leagues, retiring after the 2021-22 season.

College Hockey News reports that 2023 recruit Macklin Celebrini may have the beginning of his freshman season delayed due to an injury that was aggravated while helping Canada to a Bronze medal in the World U18 Championships. The talented center from Vancouver led the USHL in scoring with 86 points and had an unprecedented awards hat trick, claiming the league's honors for Top Rookie, Top Forward and Player of the Year.
After Chicago was eliminated, Celebrini, who turns 17 next month and is the consensus top pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, underwent a procedure to repair a tear in his shoulder that he had been playing with for the entirety of the 2022-23 USHL season.
As for next season, he confirmed that he’s still headed to BU, but he may not be ready for the start of the Terriers' season.
“That's something that is still unsure,” Celebrini said. “That decision will have to be made based on how I'm feeling and how the shoulder has healed when that time comes.”

Jake Oettinger stopped 37 shots to help Dallas avoid elimination in the Western Conference finals, as the Stars defeated Vegas, 3-2. Jack Eichel had an assist for the Golden Knights and has 17 points in the playoffs. Dallas will try to keep its hopes alive Saturday night on the road in Las Vegas.
Former Terrier Brendan Collier has been named head coach at Malden Catholic, his high school alma mater. Collier, who led MC to Super 8 titles in 2011 and 2012, played one season at BU before transferring to Northeastern.
