Looking back
2009 Hobey Baker Award winner Matt Gilroy earned a place on the NHL.com highlight reel with a spin-o-rama move and slick backhand pass to Steve Stamkos for tap-in goal in Tampa Bay’s 4-3 overtime win against Florida. It was Gilroy’s fourth assist of the season.

Looking ahead
2012 recruit Wesley Myron had Canada West’s only goal in a 2-1 exhibition game loss to Russia at the World Junior A Challenge in Langley, B.C. Canada West plays Team Sweden tonight and Team USA tomorrow in preliminary round games.

Myron’s teammate on the Victoria Grizzlies, 2012 recruit Mike Moran, registered his 12th assist in a 3-2 win against Coquitlam. His scoring line stands at 12-12-24.

Women’s team
Sophomore goalie Kerrin Sperry was named Hockey East’s co-defensive player of the week, following two standout outings: a 30-save performance in a 4-1 win against B.C., and a 35-save effort in Saturday’s 3-1 loss to the Eagles.
