Poll story, O'Regan makes NHL debut

Following the weekend split with Connecticut, BU fell to #7 in both national polls: USCHO Poll, USAHockey/USA Today Poll.

Connor LaCouvee, who stopped 28 of 29 shots in Friday’s win at UConn, and Gabe Chabot, whose first collegiate goal was the game-winner, were named to the Hockey East Weekly Top Performers.

Boston Hockey Blog: Three Thoughts . BHB also reports that LaCouvee will get the start in goal against Harvard at Agganis Arena tonight. Check back for Game Day information.

Looking back

Danny O’Regan, who led BU in scoring last season with 44 points and scored 154 points in154 games as a Terrier, was recalled from the AHL by San Jose and played in last night’s 4-0 win against New Jersey. He's the 76th Terrier to reach the NHL and joins Dad, Tom O’Regan, in the first BU father/son NHL duo. And, according to College Hockey Inc., O'Regan and Jake Guentzel of Nebraska-Omaha, who also made his NHL debut last night, are the 22nd and 23rd players who skated in the NCAA last season to make their NHL debut.

It was a “Three Dog Night” at the Shark Tank with Matt Nieto also skating for San Jose and John Hynes behind the Devils’ bench.
