Poll Story; Rookie honors for Greene; SNL

Following Saturday's 8-2 win against Bentley in the season opener, the Terriers have climbed into the top 10 of the DCU/USCHO.com weekly poll. BU climbed three spots to #9, just behind #8 Northeastern and the next regular-season opponent, #7 Michigan.

In the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, BU is #12 after slotting at #14 in the pre-season poll.

When the horn sounded ending Saturday’s game, senior John Copeland scooped up the puck and delivered it to Captain Dom Fensore for a locker room presentation to Head Coach Jay Pandolfo.

The Blackhawks give their Player of the Game a “championship belt” and the Rangers award theirs with the “Broadway Hat.” The Terriers’ version is a varsity jacket, earned on Saturday night by freshman Ryan Greene with two goals and an assist.

Then, today, the Paradise, Newfoundland, native became the first Terrier to win a weekly award this season. A Blackhawks draft pick, he's also the first BU freshman to score twice in an opening game since Patrick Harper in 2016.

Freshman Quinn Hutson has a two-game scoring streak at Agganis Arena. He scored the game-winner in last season’s USNTDP U18 win against the Terriers. And he was the first to find the net in Saturday’s victory.

15 Terriers hit the score sheet with the five freshmen producing five goals and 14 points.

With an announced attendance of 5,504, Agganis was 87% filled for the opener with both student sections packed. Last season, only the two home games against BC exceeded that number (6,150 & 6,007). An early season Merrimack game (5,339) was the only other home game to exceed 5,000.
