Terriers head West on Thursday in advance of the weekend series at Munn Arena against #3 Michigan State. Head Coach Jay Pandolfo discussed the match-up in his weekly media call.
-Playing Michigan State at Munn
"They’re really good. We played them last year. They’re a heavy team and do a really good job of getting to your net. They play fast. They have a lot of talent. I’m expecting a really good challenge and a great opportunity to see how we match-up against one of the best teams in the country."
-On comeback wins
"It says a lot about the character of our group. We’re never gonna quit, even if we don’t have our best start or the puck is not going in. We’ve been in pretty much every single game. The first Vermont game, that was one game I didn’t think we played great but we were in it right to the end."
-Back on the road at a Big 10 arena
"We’re comfortable playing on the road. The first five games of the season were on the road. No one here has played at Michigan State. I know it’s a tough environment. It’ll be a heavy game. They have a good crowd. I think our guys should embrace that and enjoy it."
-This season’s Spartans vs. last year’s
"The one thing I think is different is a couple guys they have on the back end (Tommy) Bleyl and (Chase) Reid. Just a little more dynamic from the back end."
-What needs to be cleaned up from the Maine series.
"In the Saturday game verses Maine, we weren’t as detailed defensively We knew was going to get pucks and bodies to the net. You saw that on their first goal. So I was disappointed that we weren’t ready for that."
MSU series streaming option
There appears to be an option on B1G+ for a $8.99 series pass for BU vs. MSU this weekend https://t.co/w9ppNZbw8X

"We love all wins, honestly, but they were two completely different games," the senior captain said Saturday night. "Tonight was huge. I think it showed a lot of character of this group. We dug deep and we were able to get the win. On a night like tonight, where it wasn't easy, it feels really good."
