Paced by Kyle McKinnon's hattrick and three power play goals, Providence edged BU 5-4 at Schneider Arena. BU held 2-0, 3-1 and 4-3 leads, but the Friars kept coming and aided by 12 BU penalties, wore the Terriers down with the three man-advantage goals coming in the final 21 minutes. Terrier goals were scored by Colby Cohen (team-leading 13th), Kevin Shattenkirk, Nick Bonino and Max Nicastro.
The loss dropped BU into fifth place in Hockey East, one point behind Northeastern, with five regular season games left on the schedule.
The teams meet again tonight at Agganis Arena. Click here for links to game tracker, the WWZN Radio Webcast and All-Access Webcast.
