Alex Chiasson's goal with just over five minutes left in the third period was the difference in BU's 2-1 win over Northeastern in the Beanpot opening round at TD Garden. Terriers carried a 1-0 lead into the final period on Colby Cohen's 10th goal, but the Huskies pulled even, scoring just at the end of a power play. Kieran Millan stopped 26 NU shots and senior assistant captain Eric Gryba was a force all night, especially during a Northeastern two-man advantage and again in the game' final minute.
Terriers will be playing in the Beanpot final for the 27th time in the past 29 years and 48th time in the 58 years of tournament play. They'll meet BC, a 6-0 winner over Harvard, and seek to take home the silver beanpot for the 30th time.
