Dave Van der Gulik, recovered from a knee injured suffered during his stint with the Colorado Avalanche in November, scored for David Quinn’s Lake Erie Monster in a 2-1 win over Rochester.

John Curry turned aside 23 of 24 shots as first-place Wilkes Barre/Scranton beat Syracuse, 4-1.

Colin Wilson scored his 12th goal of the season (video link) on a backhander in Nashville’s 5-1 win against Colorado. Kevin Shattenkirk picked up his 17th assist for the Avs on a pretty centering pass.

Women’s team
Riding a 10-game winning streak, the first-place Terriers are on the road this weekend for a 2 p.m. matchup with Vermont on Saturday. Just prior to the streak, BU had tied the Catamounts twice, 1-1 and 2-2, at Agganis Arena.
