More honors and a departure



Freshman defenseman Matt Grzelcyk was named Hockey East’s Rookie of the Month for November. The Charlestown native had a 2-6-8 line in eight games and scored the game-winner in BU’s 4-2 win against BC on Nov. 30. Matt O’Connor had been co-Rookie of the Month in October. Netminder Sean Maguire, who won twice in November, including a shutout of St. Lawrence, was runner-up for Goaltender of the Month.

Grzelcyk also was named to 27-man roster for the U.S. Junior National Team, which will compete in World Junior Championship in Russia. A final roster of 23 will be selected at a USA Hockey training camp at the New York Rangers’ Training Center in Tarrytown, N.Y. beginning Dec. 16

Red-shirt sophomore Yassin Cissé has left the Terriers and will pursue hockey opportunities in Canada. The tall winger, whose Terrier career was marked by several serious, injuries scored two goals and five assists in 39 games. 
UPDATE:Cissé will reportedly join QMJHL Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Former BU captain Pete MacArthur is the leading scorer for the Augsburger Panthers of the German DEL with 15 points in 23 games.

Women’s Team
Jennelle Kohanchuk and Sarah Lefort were runners up respectively for Hockey East’s Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month honors.

Terriers begin a five-game road trip this weekend with a pair of games in Minnesota against Minnesota-Duluth.
