Scoring the game’s first three goals, BU held on for a 3-2
win against top-ranked New Hampshire, knocking off a #1 team for the second time in
seven days. Last Friday, Terriers doubled up then-#1 BC, 4-2.
Captain Wade Megan’s ninth goal, converting the rebound of a Matt Grzelcyk shot, produced a first-period lead. Junior Sahir Gill and freshman Sam Kurker added to the lead in the second period before UNH got on the board on a power play goal by Kevin Goumas. The Wildcats’ John Henrion narrowed the lead to one midway through the final period, but Matt O’Connor, who stopped 31 shots including 21 in the final two periods, closed the door to seal the win.
