Game Day: BU & BC renew The Battle of Comm Ave.

#5 Terriers travel up the Green Line to Conte Forum to take on #3 Boston College in the 266th meeting of college hockey’s most storied rivalry. BU holds the edge in the series with a 129-119-17 (.519) record. Last season, the Eagles won both regular season games and edged BU in the first round of the Beanpot. Puckdrop is at 8 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network.

Terriers go into the game at second best in goals against average nationally (1.20). BU also leads the nation in combined special teams at 63.9 (23 of 36). Junior Matt O’Connor brings a.958 save percentage—3rd best in D1—into the game, while freshman Jack Eichel, named HCA National Rookie of the Month, tops Terrier scorers with nine points and five assists. Senior Cason Hohmann (photo) has nine points in seven career games vs. BC.

The Eagles are led by sophomore Ryan Fitzgerald with five goals. Freshman Alex Tuch (2-3-5) was Eichel’s linemate last season on the NTDP U18s, whose roster also included BC defenseman Noah Hanifan and BU blueliner Brandon Fortunato.
