Terriers
have vaulted from third place into the top spot in both the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. BU received 42 of 50
first-place votes in the USCHO poll. It’s the first time BU has been #1 in both
polls since Nov. 8, 2010. In addition,
the Terriers are first in SB Nation’s
newest ranking.
Freshman
Jack Eichel was named Hockey East’s Warrior Hockey Player of the Week after scoring a game-winning goal in overtime against Maine and then
assisting on two goals in BU’s 5-2 win against Connecticut. The right-shot center from North Chelmsford,
Mass., who was both NCAA and Hockey East Rookie of the Month in October, also
is the leader for the Army ROTC Three Stars Award competition. Junior Ahti
Oksanen, who scored three goals and added an assist in BU’s weekend wins, made
the weekly list of top performers.
