Game Day: Terriers host Warriors At Agganis

#9/10 Terriers take on Merrimack tonight at Agganis Arena with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m. BU dropped a 4-3 decision to the Warriors earlier in the season and will be looking to avoid a repeat and to gain an important two points in the Hockey East race.

The game, which will be streamed on TerrierTV (subscription), marks BU’s Annual Autism Awareness Night, highlighted by a silentauction for the Autism Speaks jersey wornby Jack Eichel during last season's Autism Awareness game. BU hockey has supported Autism Speaks through numerous activities since 2004 and its players wear the Autism Speaks logo on their jerseys.

After a strong start to the season, Merrimack has struggled in recent weeks, losing the last nine straight and winning just once in the last 14 games. Their offense is led by seniors Brian Christie (18 points) and Ben Bahe (15) and junior Hampus Gustafsson (15), while Collin Delia has handled most of the netminding duties.

Since second semester began, BU has enjoyed its best scoring balance of the season from its forwards. First liners Danny O’Regan and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson have 28 and 22 points respectively, while Matt Lane (photo) and Ahti Oksanen have powered the line with 13 goals apiece. Third line center Bobo Carpenter, who has five goals in his last eight games and linemate Robbie Baillargeon now are in double figures with 10 points each.

The Daily Free Press tweeted that newcomer Oskar Andrén, who scored his first points as a Terrier last Saturday against Maine, will join JFK and O’Regan on the top line tonight. Senior Sean Maguire is expected to make his eighth consecutive start in goal.
