Celebrini's 4-goal effort highlights Scarlet & White Scrimmage; Women defeat McGill

Freshman Macklin Celebrini scored four times to lead Team White to a 7-3 win over Team Scarlet in the annual Scarlet & White Scrimmage at Agganis Arena. Lane Hutson found the net with a blast from center point.

Freshman Shane Lachance connected twice on redirections for Team Scarlet while Devin Kaplan had given Scarlet an early lead with a snipe from below the right dot.

Quinn Hutson scored for Team White in 3-on-3 play, while Kaplan and Sam Stevens had the only shootout goals, giving Scarlet a 2-0 win.

Junior transfer Matthieu Caron was in goal for Team White while senior transfer Henry Graham and grad student Nick Howard split netminding duties for Team Scarlet. Caron was solid throughout the scrimmage. His best save was a quick move across the crease to stop Jack Harvey's blast from below the right circle.

At the post-scrimmage reception, Head Coach Jay Pandolfo thanked the crowd--which filled the Francis D. Burke Club Room-- for its support and asked for more of the same throughout the season. He acknowledged his staff, associate head coach Joe Pereira, assistant coach Kim Brandvold and goalie coach Brian Daccord, whom he noted is now an assistant coach. Former Terrier Chris Bourque is a volunteer assistant.  He added that Director of Hockey Operations--and former captain--Doug Friedman epitomizes the way a BU player should play.

Pandolfo pointed out the while his talented squad has high expectations for success this season, they are resolutely focused on a-one-game-at-a-time approach.

Looking ahead

2024 recruit Cole Eiserman, who announced his commitment to BU this past Wednesday, scored four goals in the NTDP U18s in a 10-3 win against Green Bay. 2024 recruit Kamil Bednarik registered four assists, including on two Eiserman tallies. 2024 recruit Cole Hutson also had an assist.

2025 recruit Conrad Fondrk scored his third goal in as many games--and fifth point-- in the NTDP U17s' 6-2 loss to Green Bay.

NHL.com spoke with Eiserman following his four-goal, one-assist performance in the USHL Fall Class that earned him USHL Forward of the Week honors. The left wing from Newburyport, Mass., who is known for his NHL-caliber shot, explained, "Individually, I'd like to round out my game and try to be a 200-foot player for the guys to make sure we win more."

TSN’s Craig Button’s new 2024 NHL Entry Draft projection has Celebrini and  Eiserman a close #1 and #2, while Cole Hutson was slotted at #20.
“I compare Celebrini to [Jonathan] Toews and I compare Eiserman to [Alexander] Ovechkin,” said Button. “I think they’re both game changers, difference makers in different ways.”

2025 recruit Zach Morin scored his first USHL goal, assisted by 2024 recruit Brandon Svoboda, as Youngstown routed the NTDP U17s, 12-0. Svoboda had a pair of assists.

TheRinkLive.com profiled several of the top first-year players in the USHL, including  Morin.
The Quebec product comes in at 6-foot-2 and 174 pounds and blends that size with his skill. Morin had a ridiculous 130 points (58-72-130) in 77 games last season with the Little Caesars 15U AAA team and while he didn’t record a point at the Fall Classic, he’s hoping that production follows him to the USHL.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Zach here and everything he’s about is what we want in a Youngstown Phantom,” Ward said. “The way he works, the way he practices, the way he’s dialed in to everything – there’s a reason why he tendered him and he’s a very special player.
“He’s mean, he’s tough, he’s dynamic and he wants to be the top pick in his NHL Draft year. I think that’s the most impressive thing about him and you can see how committed he is and how serious he takes his career."

2024 recruit Jack Pridham's second goal of the season was the game-winner as West Kelowna defeated Trail, 5-3. Linemate and 2025 recruit Cal Hughes had the primary assist.

Women's Team
Tara Watchorn's Terriers traveled to Montreal for an exhibition game against McGill and came away with a 5-2 win. Five different skaters found the net.

A first-period goal by Ani Fitzgerald and one in the second by Sydney Healy gave BU a 2-0 lead. McGill scored twice in the second to tie the score before Clara Yuhn found the net with .6 second remaining in the period for the eventual game winner.  Brooke Disher and Catherine Foulem added third-period tallies as

Freshman Mari Peterson and grad student Alex Matses combined to stop 14 shots.
