Looking ahead
In his first BCHL game, 2024 or 2025 recruit Cal Hughes scored twice within 16 seconds of the first period to lead West Kelowna Warriors past Merritt, 5-2. Skating on the Warriors’ top line, the left-shot center was assisted on both goals by 2024 recruit Jack Pridham.
2024 recruit Owen Keefe assisted on three goals as Muskegon edged Youngstown in overtime, 6-5. A defenseman from Saugus, Mass., Keefe skated for Team USA in this summer’s Hlinka-Gretzky Cup event.
