#3 Terriers will look to return to the winning column in a midweek contest against Northeastern at Matthews Arena. Puck drop is at 6:30 p.m. and the game will air on ESPNU and TSN, with ESPN+ providing a live stream.
The Terriers and Huskies met exactly three weeks ago on another Tuesday night with BU winning, 4-3 in overtime, on a Jeremy Wilmer goal. Since then, Northeastern has won three of five games, including a sweep of Merrimack this past weekend.

After losing both ends of the home-and-home with BC, the Terriers are anxious to get back on the ice quickly.
During Beanpot Media Day (see below), grad student captain Case McCarthy told reporters “It was definitely disappointing. Losing sucks, but losing to those guys is no fun as well. For us, it’s nice with a quick turnaround with the Northeastern game on Tuesday to kind of refocus, reset and get back to work.”
While BU more than held its own against the Eagles—especially on Saturday—Coach Jay Pandolfo addressed the areas he wanted to see cleaned up.
“I think discipline. And not just discipline with taking penalties – that’s certainly part of it – but discipline with how we play the game,” he explained. “Puck management and all those things matter for our group. At times, we’ve gotten away with it this year. But as the stakes get higher here, the margin of error is slim, so we have to make sure that we’re fixing some of those things.”
Pandolfo also noted that forward Devin Kaplan, who missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury, also would be out of the lineup tonight.
NU’s offense is led by sophomore Jack Williams (27 points), senior Alex Campbell, a transfer from Clarkson (24) and sophomore Cam Lund (22).

With the 71st Beanpot just a week away, the annual pre-tournament Media Day was held Monday at TD Garden with coaches and captains on hand. BU won in the Beanpot in 2022—its 31st tournament title—but finished last a year ago.
McCarthy
pointed out, “I think coming into this year, it definitely factors into that
chip [on our shoulders] and the understanding that again, these games are hard
to win with the emotion and momentum so we’ll be on top of our game on Monday
night,”
Pandolfo, who played for two Terrier Beanpot winners (1995 & 1996) and was assistant coach in 2022, will be looking to lead his team to the title for the first time as head coach. He shared that former Coach Jack Parker called to console him after last year’s tournament.
Former
Terrier captain Mike Sullivan was announced as a 2024 inductee to the BeanpotHall of Fame and Parker was on hand to talk about the Marshfield, Mass.,
native, who has gone on to coach the Pittsburgh Penguins to back-to-back
Stanley Cups in 2016 & 2017.

Sullivan played for Beanpot winners in 1987 and 1990 and skated in the championship game all four years. In eight tournament games, he scored four goals and assisted on nine others.
“Mike is incredibly deserving of this honor,” said Parker. “Not only was Mike a great hockey player, but he was, and still is, a tremendous person and leader. I was lucky to coach someone like him at BU and I’m really happy he’s being recognized as a Beanpot Hall of Famer.”
A year ago, another Terrier captain, Matt Grzelcyk, was inducted, along with his father, John, a longtime member of the TD Garden bullgang.
