Poll Story; Celebrini's Video Clinic; Standout recruits

Check back tomorrow for BU-Northeastern Game Day details

Poll Story

Terriers remain in the #2 slot in the USCHO.com D1 Hockey Poll and received six first-place votes. Most of the top 10 remained unchanged including #1 BC, #4 North Dakota, #7 Maine and #9 Providence. With UMass at #13 and New Hampshire #16, Hockey East teams hold six of the top 16 spots.

The USA Hockey/The Rink Inside D1 Hockey Poll nearly mirrors' USCHO's poll with an identical top 10. Again there are six Hockey East schools in the top 16. Everything College Hockey also has BC and BC ranked #1 and #2, but puts surging Michigan State, which gets back goalie Trey Augustine from the World Juniors.

Following Maine’s tie with Colgate, BU has moved back into the top spot in the Pairwise rankings.  In College Hockey News’ Power Rankings (based on KRACH), the Terriers are third behind the Black Bears and Wisconsin, but remain #1 in Strength of Schedule.

While preparing for the recent World Junior Championships, Macklin Celebrini recorded a tutorial on creating  space in the offensive zone and taking a puck hard to the net.

Looking ahead

2025 recruit Jack Murtagh scored twice and assisted on two more in a 10-9 loss to Tri-City. Fellow recruits Conrad Fondrk and Charlie Trethewey each scored his 11th goal as well. 2024 recruit Nick Roukounakis, who had been sidelined all season with an injury, made his season debut and had two assists for the Storm.

2024 recruit Michael Chambre stopped 31 shots in Sioux Falls’ 5-4 shootout win over Chicago. The 6’1.5” netminder, who also defendeded both shootout attempts he faced, improved his record to 10-5-0.

2025 recruit Cal Hughes tallied his 14th goal in West Kelowna’s 6-4 loss to Cranbrook. 2024 recruit Jack Pridham assisted on two goals, including Hughes’ goal, and has 30 points (13G,17A) in 32 games.

2025 or 2026 recruit Jay Feldberg assisted on a pair of power-play goals as Toronto Junior Canadiens thumped Aurora, 7-1.  The right-shot center will play in the OJHL Top Prospects games this Saturday.

Sascha Boumedienne | The Scouting News

PuckPreps' analysis of top 2007 prospects playing in the USHL includes strong praise for recently committed Youngstown defenseman Sascha Boumedienne who also played for Sweden in the recent World U17 Challenge:

Youngstown seems to have gotten another coup via the tender process when they signed Boumedienne as he has been one of the league’s best 16-year old skaters and looks to possess significant upside. Already he has been logging big minutes and seeing time on special teams in part to high end hockey sense and skill set. His skating is fluid and dynamic and he’s a constant threat to jump into the play or breakout with the puck unscathed...Overall, this kid has the potential to be a household name down the road if he hasn’t already turned heads.

Looking back

Wilmer Skoog recorded his first AHL goal in his tenth game since receiving a call-up from the ECHL Florida Everblades. Another former Terrier, Jake Wise, has 13 points in 21 games with Charlotte.

Alex Vlasic recorded his ninth assist and had a team high 24:53 TOI in Chicago's 4-3 win over Calgary.

Trevor Zegras scored a pair of goals--his 3rd and 4th--in the Ducks' 3-2 loss to the Red Wings.

Women’s Team

ImageTerriers (8-8-2) begin second semester on the road against Maine (10-10-0) in a 5 p.m. ET start today at Alfond Arena. BU defeated the Black Bears, 4-3, on October 27, also in Orono.

The game brings sisters Lilli Weicke and Luisa Weicke back to the venue where they played as freshmen and earned spots on Hockey East’s All-Rookie and All-Academic teams. Terriers are led by senior Catherine Foulem with 16 points and senior Lacey Martin and sophomore Clara Yuhn, who scored the game-winner in the first game with Maine, with 12 each.
