Back to the BCHL
2022 recruit Charles-Alexis Legault is heading back to the BCHL and the West Kelowna Warriors for the 2021-2022 campaign. The 6’3”, 207 lb., right-shot defenseman began last season with the Warriors, playing in their extended pre-season tournament. When the BCHL delayed its season due to Covid-19, he headed to USHL Lincoln, playing 23 games with a 3-2-5 line. The Quebec native was ranked #123 among N. America skaters by NHL Central Scouting but was not selected in the recent entry draft.
In a Q&A interview last month with BCHL.ca, Legault, whose father was a Terrier defenseman from 1989 to 1991, discussed why he elected to return to the Warriors, his commitment to BU and his style of play.
Legault will be joined in West Kelowna by a future BU teammate, 2022 or 2023 recruit Nick Roukounakis. The 6’2”, 220 lb., left-shot forward from Pembroke, Mass., had played two seasons at Thayer Academy (27 points in 26 games in 2019-2020) under Tony Amonte before Covid-19 eliminated last year’s prep season.
However, he did skate for the Boston Junior Eagles 18U and impressed enough to earn five starts with the NTDP U18s. Following last fall's Cape Cod Whalers Showcase, TSA Scouting wrote:
The big, power-forward that is committed to Boston University was extremely difficult to play against this weekend. His compete away from the puck was top notch as he constantly back checks with a purpose and to the right spot. His PK ability was very impressive for his size as he showed tremendous mobility and the ability to recover quickly. His offense came off the rush, but there is room for him to grow in the puck possession game below the dots in the offensive zone.
Roukounakis, ranked #184 by Central Scouting, also sat for a pre-draft Q&A interview with BCHL.ca and also addressed the decision to play in British Columbia, his BU commitment and his game.

After two seasons at Tabor Academy and one with the Boston Jr. Bruins, the 6’4” power forward will suit up for the Youngstown Phantoms. The son of Terrier standout defense Scott Lachance and grandson of BU coaching legend Jack Parker was selected by Edmonton in the sixth round of July’s NHL Entry Draft.
