#9/8 Terriers return to conference action with a home-and-home series against UMass Lowell that begins Friday at the Tsongas Center. Puck drop is at 7:15 p.m. for the contest that will stream live on ESPN+.

The River Hawks (4-4-0) are coming off a pair of tough, one-goal losses to top-ranked BC. The previous weekend, they split a series with Connecticut.

Lowell’s attack is led by sophomore Scott Truman and juniors Matt Crasa and Owen Cole, each with eight points. Crase has six goals and Cole has three. Senior Henry Welsch (2.00 GAA) and junior transfer from UMass Luke Pavicich (1.99) have split the goaltending duties.

“Lowell is always very structured defensively,“ Coach Jay Pandolfo said during Thursday’s media call. “Lowell plays a little bit different than Bentley did. Bentley was really collapsing around their net. Lowell more swarms you in the corner and tries to end plays that way and transition off of that … all these teams we’ve played recently should help us.”

“They don’t beat themselves,” Pandolfo added. “They’re going to have four or five guys back in the neutral zone, and they’re going to play with structure in all three zones. They have great sticks, they finish their checks hard around their net.”

At Thursday’s practice, freshman Macklin Celebrini wore a non-contact jersey, but Pandolfo explain it wasn’t “concussion related.” Several players are “banged up” and will be game-day decisions.

The coach also dismissed concerns about so much of the team’s scoring coming from two or three players, explaining, “I feel like there’s some guys that maybe are snake bitten a little bit. I don’t know how many crossbars Quinn Hutson’s hit this year--at least eight so far. That's gonna turn for him. He's a goal-scorer.”
