UPDATED P-O-W for Quinn Hutson; D-O-W for Calderone; BU recruit to deliver NHL HOF induction speech; Women face Harvard

Hutson now has a 5-3-8 scoring line. As a freshman, Quinn rang up 15 goals, including a Hockey East best seven game-winners, along with 13 assists for a total of 28 points. He earned conference Rookie of the Week honors on March 27 after scoring the game-winner against Western Michigan in the NCAA regional.

Poll Story

Terriers moved up one slot to #8 in the USCHO Division 1 Hockey Poll. Wisconsin has regained the top spot while last week’s BU opponent, North Dakota, rose to #2. Five other Hockey East school are in the top 15: #4 BC, #5 Providence, #9 Maine, #13 New Hampshire and #15 Massachusetts.

BU remains at #8 in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live College Hockey Poll.

The road ahead gets more challenging for the Terriers. In both national polls, next weekend's opponent, Maine, is #9. Then Thanksgiving-eve foe Quinnipiac is #7 and Red Hot Hockey rival Cornell is #10.

Everything College Hockey has the Terriers at #7 in its rankings, as does ESPN’s John Buccigross.

In a powerful Boston Hockey Blog opinion piece, Belle Fraser addresses the cheap shots taken at Macklin Celebrini in the Saturday games against North Dakota and Lowell and the failure of officials to police them. A must read.

“It’s got to stop with these head hits. They’re unnecessary. He was already down along the boards and a guy hits him. This is the stuff that can’t happen in this game,” Pandolfo said. (Full comments here)

Note: Today, Hockey East suspended Lowell’s Dillan Bentley for one game. He was not penalized during Saturday’s game.

SNL (Saturday Night Leftovers, and Friday’s too)

Macklin Celebrini leads Hockey East skaters in points with 18 (2.0/game). Luke Tuch is sixth with 12 and Lane Hutson is tied for seventh with 11. Celebrini, Hutson and BC's Cutter Gauthier are tied for most goals with eight.

Nationally, Celebrini is tied for the overall points lead and is Division 1's top-scoring freshman.

BU’s sweep of the River Hawks was its first since the 2010-11 season.

A unique nickname for BU’s top line? First, PA announcer Nick Bove Tweeted that BU’s fifth goal (Quinn Hutson from Gavin McCarthy and Macklin Celebrini) constitute a palindrome: 17-7-71, and that all three have brothers on the team. Then, @brassbonanzaa Tweeted “The Palindrome Line must remain,” referring to the Celebrini-Tuch-Hutson line (71-11-17) that combined for 10 points (4G,6A) in the 6-1 win.

@BUHockeyStats tweeted that “Lane and Quinn Hutson become the first pair of brothers to score hat tricks in back to back home games in the history of Agganis Arena.”

But has it ever happened before in BU hockey history?
