Pandolfo's Media Call Highlights

“Obviously decent last weekend. Played pretty well Friday against UMass. I don’t think we played our best on Saturday but a way after being down three different times to tie the game and get the extra [standings] point, which is big for our group.

"Looking forward to…a huge weekend for us, with a very good team coming in. It’s going to be a tough test, so we need to be up to this challenge."

Asked about the team's identity, Pandolfo pointed out, "For us, it's about competing in all three zones and being hard to play against. There' some games when we certainly haven't been that. Definitely saw some signs of it the last game at Notre Dame, certainly Friday. Took a little bit of step back Saturday. We're headed in the right direction. Now we need to see signs of being more consistent.

Noting that special teams play was emphasized in practice this week, he added, "Special teams are really important, especially in a series like this coming up. You have to make sure that you’re going on the penalty kill and that when you do have an opportunity on the power play, you take advantage of it. We continue to try to get better there."

This week, the BHB discusses the wins for both the men's and women's teams this past weekend. They also talk about the women's new assistant coach, and give a small preview of the men's game against North Dakota this weekend

Looking ahead

Puck Preps has updated its rankings of 2006-born prospects with 2024 recruit Kamil Bednarik (C/LW) taking a big jump.

Kamil Bednarik | Forward | U18 NTDP | #32 > #19 |
There are many shifts where Kamil Bednarik looks like the heart and soul of the U18 NTDP. It doesn’t seem to matter who his line mates are as Bednarik is able to fill in the gaps, accounting for whatever the weaknesses of his line mates may be. The foundation for this is found in his off-puck moving and anticipation, both constantly supporting each other, causing Bednarik to route himself close to the play whenever his presence is necessary. He can play the grinder, fighting in the corners for loose pucks to spry them free for teammates in space, or he can play the give-and-go puck mover and work well off line mates to punch holes through the opposing defense. His adaptability is arguably his biggest strength, and will continue to serve him well as Bednarik scales the pro-hockey ladder.

The NTDP U17s—with three 2025 recruits, Fs Conrad Fondrk and Jack Murtagh, and D Charlie Trethewey—are in Prince Edward Island for the 2023 World U17 Challenge. They open preliminary round action against Sweden today.

A fourth 2025 recruit, Youngstown forward Zach Morin,is one of two USHL players playing for Canada. He is rostered with Canada Red.

2026 recruit Jay Feldberg fourth goal helped the Toronto Jr. Canadians rally for a two-goal deficit in the third period, but Trenton scored late for a 5-4 win. Feldberg also added an assist.

Looking back

Joel Farabee needed some puck luck on his fifth goal of the season, but it wasn’t enough as the Sabres sliced up the Flyers, 5-2.

Jake Oettinger's 43-save effort led Dallas to a 4-3 win against Calgary. Oettinger is among the top four NHL goalies in save percentage with a .939 mark, as well as a 1.95 GAA and a 5-0-1 record.

Drew Commesso stopped all 18 shots he faced in AHL Rockfold's 3-0 blanking of Grand Rapids. For Commesso, who was named the game's first star, it was his second win and first shutout.

Women’s Team

Terriers begin a home-and-home series against Merrimack with a 2 p.m. game Friday in North Andover.
