Looking ahead
The BCHL West Kelowna Warriors, who begin exhibition games this weekend, will have their offense led by a pair of BU 2025 recruits.
Two of the vets with much to prove this year are Jack Pridham (video) and Callum Hughes (photo), both of whom attended National Hockey League development camps over the Summer, as Pridham went to Chicago Blackhawks camp, while Hughes made the trip down to UBC for the Vancouver Canucks Dev Camp. “I kinda feel like they just picked up where they left off,” said Warriors Head Coach Simon Ferguson of his two star forwards. “They were flying high in Playoffs last year… You see the type of dynamic players that they both are, so it’s exciting to get to see them compete [at that level].
Last season Pridham, a first-team BCHL All-Rookie, had 48 regular-season points (23G,25A) and added eight goals and three assists in 10 playoff games. Hughes had a 23-19-43 line in the regular season and nine playoff points.
