Rising senior David Farrance was announced as a First
Team All-American on Saturday. The Victor, NY native led the Terriers in scoring this
season and was the top-scoring D1 defenseman in points (43) and power-play
goals (9). His point total was sixth nationally among all skaters.
A Hobey Baker top-10 finalist, Farrance also was named to
the All-USCHO First Team and was selected as a Hockey East First Team All-Star.
His 43 points surpasses Tom Poti, a
1997-98 All-American, for most points by a Terrier blueliner in the Hockey East
era.
Farrance joins Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk as First-Team
All-Americans in the past decade. A third-round Nashville draft pick in 2017, he recently announced his intention to return to BU for his senior season.
