#13/12 Terriers head to Hamden, Conn., to face #10/8 Quinnipiac in a late afternoon game starting at 4 p.m. ET. ESPN+ delivers the livestream.

BU is making its first visit to M&T Bank Arena (formerly High Point) since Oct. 8, 2017 when the Terriers rallied to tie on a Patrick Harper goal and then won in overtime on Shane Bower’s rebound tally.

Since then, the teams have played three times at Agganis Arena with BU winning twice. Overall, BU is 4-1-0 against the Bobcats and 2-0-0 on the road.

After last weekend’s sweep of Merrimack, the 5-5-1 Terriers will be bolstered by the return of sophomores Cole Eiserman and Nick Roukounakis to the lineup. Eiserman has been out since the Oct. 25 game at UConn, while Roukounakis, injured in preseason, will make his 2025-26. debut.

Coach Jay Pandolfo plans to skate Eiserman with center Brandon Svoboda and, of course, on the first power-play unit. While BU is converting on 22% of its man-advantages, they’ve scored just twice in the last 11 opportunities.

The Sacha Boisvert-Ryder Ritchie-Owen McLaughlin line, which scored four goals last Saturday, and the Kamil Bednarik-Jack Harvey-Jack Murtagh line will remain intact.

Cole Hutson, tied for the Hockey East scoring lead and tops among all D1 defensemen, paces the Terriers with a 5-10-15 line. McLaughlin with 11 points, Ritchie with 10 and Boisvert with nine are coming off a strong game. Eiserman, despite the recent absence, remains BU’s top goal-scorer with six.

Quinnipiac (6-3-2) is coming off a road weekend that yielded a 4-1 loss to local rival Yale and a 4-3 overtime win against Brown. Last month, QU had a shutout win and a tie against Maine.

The Bobcats’ deep and balanced attack is currently led by a pair of freshmen, Ethan Wyttenbach (12 points) and Markus Vidicek (10). Old friend Jeremy Wilmer, who rang up 66 points in two seasons at BU, is the co-leader in goals (6) with Chris Pelosi.

Grad student William Gilson, a transfer from RPI, and Charlie Leddy, a one-time BC Eagle, anchor the defense. Junior netminder Matej Marinov has started seven of the Bobcats’ 11 games and sports a 2.22 GA and an .899 save percentage.

Looking back

Trevor Zegras scored his fifth and sixth goals, assisted on another tally, then scored the only goal in the shootout for the Flyers in a 6-5 win against the St. Louis Blues. He has a team-leading 19 points in 17 games and is a remarkable 16 for 24 in his career in the shootout.

Terriers dropped a 3-2 decision to Boston College before a BU women's home record crowd of 3,965 at Agganis Arena. BU had pulled even at 2-2 early in third period, but the Eagles' Emma Connor scored her second of the game with just over three minutes left in regulation.

Connor opened the scoring at 16:12 of the opening period. That was matched 29 seconds later on a Sydney Healy power-play snipe. BC regained the lead with its own power-play goal in the final seconds of the period.

The scoreless second period was dominated by BC who enjoyed a 14-6 shot advantage. That script flipped in the third period with BU outshooting the visitors 14-5. At 5:44 Clara Yuhn jabbed home a loose puck to knot the score at two apiece. Connor's game-winner came at 16:42. BU pulled goalie Michelle Pasiechynk for an extra skater but couldn't produce an equalizer.

Head Coach Tara Watchorn called the contest "Probably the toughest loss so far this year, but for all the good reasons. Obviously, a great game, I felt. One of the best ones we've played."

BU outshot BC 33-32 and won 33 of 46 faceoffs.
