For the second month in a row, Cole Hutson is Hockey East's Defender of the Month. The 5'11" sophomore led Hockey East blueliners in goals (4), points (8), shots (35), game-winning goals (2), and time on ice (27:40). Two of his tallies were overtime game-winners: in the 3-2 win against Merrimack and in the 4-3 win at Northeastern.

Winning the award in back-to-back months duplicates what older brother Lane Hutson achieved in the first two months of the 2022-23 seasons.
Nationally, Hutson, who was October's National Defender of the Month, is the points leader among blueliners with a 7-11-18 scoring line. His 26:28 average time on ice is tops for all D1 skaters.
In just 54 career games, Hutson has totaled 66 points (21g, 45a); only Lane (68 points) has totaled more points in his first 54 games as an NCAA defenseman since at least 2004-05.

Looking ahead
►For NTDP U18 forward and 2027 BU recruit Jamie Glance, it was a November to remember. In a nine-game span that included the Five Nations tournament in Sweden and the two-game CHL-USA Prospects Challenge, he generated 14 points (6G,8A) out of his season total of 19, which is second on the U18s. In between the two tournament events, the PuckPreps 4.5-⭐️ prospect rang up five points in a win against the Chicago Steel.
A 5’10 right wing from Stratham, N.H., he scored three goals (tied for the team lead) and assisted on two more in four games in Sweden, earning a strong review from McKeen’s Hockey.
He flashed some impressive vision on his passes and really could have put up more points. His edge work jumped off the page, as did his patience and smarts with the puck, which allowed him to attack the game consistently. He was tied with Berchild and Sammy Nelson for the team lead in scoring chances (11) and tied Berchild again for the team lead in passes to the slot (6).
Where his biggest impact came from, however, was in the transitional game. He led the team by quite a wide margin in zone entries, with 32. The next closest was Berchild at 20. Just an excellent tournament for the 2027 draft eligible winger.
Glance recorded a goal and an assist in each of the Prospect Challenge games and a combined seven shots on goal. He was a prominent play-driver throughout the event.

Prior to his selection for the NTDP, Glance was a standout for Mount St. Charles Academy's 15U AAA, producing a 54-58-112 scoring line in 58 games, helping MSC win the 15U National Championship.
With a late 2008 birthday. he’ll be eligible for the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
►College Hockey News’ Recruit Watch’s Top 10 for next year’s recruit classes has Tynan Lawrence at #1 and Egor Shilov at #7. Shilov, with 33 points (12G,21A) for Victoriaville, is tied for the rookie scoring lead in the QMJHL and is tied for seventh among all skaters.
Looking back
Clayton Keller scored his ninth goal and assisted on two other tallies at the Mammoth cooked the Ducks, 7-0. Keller, who was named to the U.S. Olympic Team orientation camp roster, has 25 points in 28 games.
