All three members of BU’s second line, junior Matt Nieto, sophomore Evan Rodrigues and freshman Danny O’Regan, made Hockey East’s top performers list. The trio combined for nine points in the 6-5 overtime loss to Northeastern. With a five-point weekend (3+2), Rodriguez (photo) has 15 points in Hockey East games, just one shy of doubling last year's production.

Junior Garrett Noonan, hit with a DQ for spearing Lowell’s goalie, had a second game added to his suspension by Hockey East and will miss both ends of this weekend’s home-and-home with Providence.

Senior Ben Rosen, who moved up to the center the third line against Lowell, won 8 of 11 faceoffs, assisted on Matt Lane’s goal, and rang a bullet off the crossbar, one of four BU shots to catch iron.

Episode 14 of Inside BU Hockey features Bernie Corbett’s interviews with Coach Jack Parker, sophomore defenseman Alexx Privitera and Olympic hero and goalie on BU’s 1978 national champions, Jim Craig.

Looking ahead
2014 recruit Kevin Duane’s game-winner in the Junior Bruins’ 3-2 win against the Junior Warriors was his fifth power play goal and 7th overall in 13 games.

Looking back
David Warsofksy, who made Boston’s opening night roster, then was sent to AHL Providence, scored the game-winner and added an assist for the P-Bruins in a 4-1 win against the Connecticut Whale.

Texas Stars forward Alex Chiasson is wielding a hot stick this month with six goals in 10 games and four goals in the past three games.  In a 6-4 win against Chicago, he scored twice on three shots.

Eric Gryba, now in his third season with AHL Binghamton, has matched a career high with five goals and is plus 22. He is an assistant captain for the Senators.
