BU fell to 9th
in the USCHO Division One Men’s Poll
following the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game loss to Denver. Terriers return to
action Friday against Renssalaer at Agganis Arena and conclude their three-game out-of-conference
swing with a Jan. 9 game, hosting Harvard.
Looking ahead
2013 recruit
Robbie Baillargeon scored an unassisted goal--his 10th of the
season--and added a power-play assist in Omaha’s 5-4 win
against Sioux City.
2013 recruit
Jarrid Privitera’s goal got Dubuque on the board early, but the Saints dropped
a 4-2
decision to Fargo.
Looking back
John McCarthy
scored with 1:06 left in regulation to give Worcester a 3-2 win
against Manchester. McCarthy, co-captain of BU’s 2008-09 NCAA championship team
and current Sharks captain, took time for a “Hangin’ Out” interview
with New England Hockey Journal. (Photo: Worcester Sharks)
Congratulations
to former Terrier wing John Hynes, now head coach of AHL Wilkes
Barre/Scranton, who became the winningest coach in franchise history with his
116th victory, a 3-2 win against Syracuse on Dec. 22.
Alex Chiasson’s
fifth goal of the season was the game-winner for Texas in a 3-1 win
over Charlotte. Chiasson, who also assisted on an insurance goal, talked about
the Stars tough division after the game.
Charlie Coyle
scored his 12th goal of the season in Houston’s 4-2 win
against Oklahoma City.
Women’s team
Three
Terriers, senior Jennelle Kohanchuk, junior Marie-Philip Poulin and freshman Sarah
Lefort are in Germany, skating for Team Canada in the Meco Cup, which begins
tomorrow. Poulin scored a hattrick in an 8-1 exhibition blitzing of Germany. All
three should be back in time for BU’s next game, a Jan. 8 visit to Connecticut.
