With the NHL season completed, the Entry Draft is set to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Writing in The Athletic, Cory Pronman projects that: Luke Tuch will go to Ottawa at #52 overall; Dylan Peterson (photo) will be selected by Boston at #58; and that goalie Drew Commesso will be drafted by Colorado at #75. All three are products of the USA Hockey NTDP program.

Looking ahead
Eight future Terriers are on the ice this weekend. The NTDP U17 & U18 teams are playing a combined five games against NAHL Teams. The U18s, including three 2021 recruits—forwards Tyler Boucher and Jeremy Wilmer, and defenseman Roman Schmidt—begin their season with a pair of games on Friday and Saturday against St. Cloud and another Monday against Austin.

The U18s overwhelmed St. Cloud on Friday with a 13-2 rout. Wilmer initiated the scoring with a power-play goal, lifting a shot over the goalie’s shoulder from just outside the crease. Boucher recorded his first tally of the season in the third period.
The U17s begin their season with Saturday and Sunday games against Johnstown. 2022 recruits on the roster are defenseman Lane Hutson and forward Devin Kaplan.

In the BCHL’s Okanagan Cup tournament, a weekend series between Penticton and West Kelowna brings together three 2021 recruits. Last week, Quinn Hutson had back to back two-goal games for the Vees, while Tristan Amonte scored a pair. For the Warriors, defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault had an assist in the opening night win.
In Friday’s contest, the Vees edged the Warriors, 3-2, with
Amonte scoring his third of the season and Hutson setting up the third-period
game-winner. Penticton now is 3-0 in the Cup series, while West Kelowna drops to 2-1. The teams meet again tonight.
