Just 32 days remain until the puck drops on BU's 104th season of Men's varsity hockey and the fourth under recently extended Head Coach Jay Pandolfo. Terriers will face off against Long Island University in the first-ever meeting between the schools on Oct. 4 at Agganis Arena.
Only two Terriers have worn #32 and easily the most impactful was big Swedish wing Wilmer Skoog. An Agganis Arena fan favorite, Skoog scored his signature lacrosse goal four times as a Terrier. In his last two seasons, he had a combined 31 goals and 61 points.
►There are lots of new uniform numbers for Terrier fans to learn as 14 newcomers have joined a dozen returnees on the roster. In addition, Kamil Bednarik has traded #11 for never-before-worn-by-a-Terrier #38.

Sacha Boisvert wore #9 at UND while Jack Murtagh sported the same number for the NTDP U18s, but it's the transfer from the NCHA who will wear it at BU this season, perhaps passed down to him by fellow Blackhawks draft pick Ryan Greene.
Our friend @BUHockeyStats points out that beside Bednarik's switch:
Malte Vass will be the first Terrier to wear a number in the 50s. Charlie Tretheway is the first player to wear a number in the 90s since Matt Gilroy (#97). The 8 players wearing 33+ is the most in program history.

►Another friend of the blog, @BurntBoats, has updated his roster projections chart following the most recent commitments and the introduction of newcomers. He comments that:
Pipeline is pretty set (and impressive) for the next 3 seasons. After 3 straight FFs and 3 straight 10+ player departure off seasons we are spoiled to return another roster this strong.

2026 recruit Viktor Norringer suited up for Sweden in a U20 Five Nations tournament last week, scoring once in three games. The 6'3"right wing now heads to Muskegon Lumberjacks training camp. Norringer, a 2024 Nashville draft pick, was selected by Muskegon at #10 overall in last May's USHL Entry Draft.

NCAA commits that are playing in the CHL next year that were drafted by an NHL team, will be eligible to play in NHL rookie tournaments and maybe NHL exhibition games. San Jose has two in Teddy Mutryn and Haoxi Wang. Told they are definitely not the only NHL team that has this. https://t.co/JU49mxigSn

2026 recruit Haoxi Wang, drafted #33 overall last June, is rostered for San Jose in the upcoming San Francisco Rookie Tournament.
