Women’s Team
Terriers dropped a 4-3 decision to Providence in the Hockey East quarterfinals as a third period comeback fell short. The loss ends BU’s season leaving its record at 6-6-0. Freshman Julia Shaunessy scored twice and Kristina Schuler had the other tally.
The Friars led, 1-0, after one and stretched the lead to 3-0 before Shaunessy scored at 17:44 of the second. But Providence added one more in the period’s final seconds for a 4-1 margin.
Schuler’s goal early in the third cut the deficit to two, but BU couldn’t find the net again until Shaunessy’s extra-attacker goal in the final minute of regulation.
