Terriers make their first appearance at Agganis Arena in an exhibition game against the NTDP U18s. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. for the contest that will stream on ESPN+.
For the U18s, it's the second game in the Kroger College Series. Last week, they fell to Western Michigan, 9-4. They head up to Hanover, N.H., tomorrow to face Dartmouth.
Team USA's roster features three 2024 BU recruits: Cole Eiserman, who set the NTDP record for most goals in a U17 season (69) and is a projected top-3 draft pick; Cole Hutson, who set record for most points (68) in a season by an NTDP defenseman; and Kamil Bednarik, a 200-foot center who had a 20-24-44 line last season.
Eiserman, who flipped his commitment from Minnesota to BU last month, has 10 goals in seven games this season. He was injured a week ago in a USHL game and his availability today is not yet determined.
Eiserman also is NHL.com's choice to pen an on-going 2024 Draft Diary. Here's his initial diary entry in which he explains his decision to commit to @TerrierHockey.
Lane Hutson told The Boston Hockey Blog: “[Quinn and I] are really excited to get on the ice with him. This is the first time ever that all three of us will be on the ice together.”
Ian Kennedy of Yahoo! Sports posted new 2024 draft rankings with Macklin Celebrini #1, Eiserman #2 and Hutson #18. Several rankings have Bednarik as a late first round/early second round pick.
The game also marks a return to Agganis Arena of Matt Gilroy, co-captain of the 2009 national champion, two-time First Team All-American and Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner. Gilroy is in his second season as an assistant coach with the NTDP.
