#11/12 Terriers are on the road to face UConn at Freitas Ice Forum in Storrs. Puck drop is at 4 p.m. for the game that will be live-streamed on LiveSports.
The Huskies (8-8-2) are currently fourth in the Hockey East Power Index and while they are coming off road losses to Providence (4-0) and Lowell (3-2 ot), they boast wins against BC, Providence and Northeastern.
UConn relies heavily on its top line, headed by the Hockey East’s leading scorer, junior right-wing Jonny Evans (12-10-22), playmaking center, Jáchym Kondelík (0-16-16) and left wing Vladislav Firstov (3-8-11). Forward Carter Turnbull has 12 points (8G,4A), while freshman John Spetz in the top-scoring defenseman with 9 points (3G,6A)
Junior Tomáš Vomáčka, is among the top goalies in D1 with a .916 save percentage and a 2.58 goals-against average. Two weeks ago when Vinny Duplessis earned top rookie honors, Vomáčka was Defensive Player of the Week honors after backstopping a 4-1 defeat of Northeastern for his eighth win.
BU will be without leading scorer David Farrance once again, although he's expected back next weekend. Jay O'Brien, with a hat trick in his last game, has 10 points (6G,4A), Luke Tuch has eight (4G,4A) and Alex Vlasic has seven (3G,4A). Captain Logan Cockerill, who returned to action last weekend, has a 4-1-5 line. Duplessis, who has stepped at goal in the absence of Drew Commesso, has won all three starts and has an 0.67 GAA and a .974 save percentage.
