Game Day: Terriers host UMass; Women fall to Holy Cross UPDATED

Looking to end a four-game losing streak, Terriers will face a tough task in a home-and-home series against #8/9--and defending national champion--UMass. The series begins at Agganis Arena tonight with puck drop at 7:30 p.m. Last January,
BU swept a pair of games with the Minutemen.

The Minuteman offense is led by Bobby Trivigno (3-6-9), Cal Kiefiuk (3-5-9) and freshman defenseman Scott Morrow (3-5-8). Goalie Matt Murray has a 2.13 GAA.

Noting the skill and talent of UMass, Coach Albie O'Connell added, "But the best thing about what they do is they play as a team all the time, and they compete as a team all the time.”

Pointing out that 45% of his team's penalties have been taken in the offensive zone, O'Connell is looking for more discipline from his squad.

After a very strong start this season for the penalty-kill unit, the team's success rate has dropped to 80.4. O'Connell asserted that the coaches can be blamed for confusing the players.

“I think there was some confusion in a couple of situations. There was some poor execution that, you know, guys did not absorb [their roles] and if they’re not absorbing it, we’re not teaching it the right way,” he acknowledged.

O'Connell indicated that some of the injured forward might return this weekend, but did not elaborate.
