Terriers (3-5-0, 2-5-0 HE) are in Marquette, Michigan, for a two-game series against Northern Michigan (2-5-0, 2,4-0 HE). Game time at the Berry Events Center is 6:37 p.m.
BU’s last visit to NMU was in January 1988. Three years later, the teams met in the NCAA championship game with the Wildcats winning, 8-7, in triple overtime. In October 2019, Northern Michigan visited Agganis Arena for a pair of games: a 4-4 tie and a 4-3 NMU win.
Northern Michigan, which has lost its last five decisions, is led by junior AJ Vanderbeck (5-4-9) and Hank Crone (3-6-9). Crone played for BU as a freshman in 2017-18 before transferring to Denver for two seasons and joining NMU this year. Goalie Rico DiMatteo has a 4.10 GAA.
Discussing the Wildcats, Coach Albie O’Connor observed, ““They’re good off the rush, they attack. You know, they have a four-man attack a lot. They’ve got some speed up front for sure.”
Four juniors pace the Terrier offense: Wilmer Skoog (4-3-7), Robert Mastrosimone (3-3-6), Domenick Fensore (1-5-6) and Ethan Phillips (1-4-5). O’Connell said he expected one or two of his injured forwards to return to the line-up, but provided no specifics.
