Quinn to lead U.S. Olympic hockey team; Boucher departs for NHL

Check back for more details

Former Terrier and New York Rangers head coach David Quinn has been named to lead the U.S. Olympic hockey team in Beijing in February. Prior to the NHL and NHLPA decision not to participate in the games due to Covid concerns, Quinn previously had been named an assistant by then-head-coach designee Mike Sullivan of the Penguins. John Hynes, the Predators’ head coach, had also been picked for Sullivan’s staff.

According to USA Hockey and general manager John Vanbiesbrouck, Team USA will draw on AHL players, collegians and Americans playing in Europe to fill out the roster.
