As the 299th match-up with BC approached, Coach Jay Pandolfo asked his team to get more shots on goal and to create second and third chances after a save. Terriers delivered on SOGs, racking up 34 shots. Second and third chances? Not too many. Both power units underwent changes in an effort to breath life into a struggling man-advantage units. BU generated 11 shots--and scored its only goal--on five power plays.
BC produced three even-strength goals and an empty-netter on just 21 shots and came away with a 4-1 win at a sold out Agganis Arena.

The Terriers, who would dominate both possession and shots (15-7) in the opening period, came out fast, skating with urgency and passing crisply to immediately create three grade A chances. But it was the visitors who found the back of the net.
After Oscar Hemming's shot from the left circle was blocked, he slid the puck back to a trailing Andre Gasseau. He pulled a wrister wide right but it hit Sascha Boumedienne in the chest and fell behind Mikhail Yegorov.

Terriers kept up the pressure and drew two penalties, which BC killed, but were unable to beat freshman goalie Louka Cloutier. BC appeared to score a power-play goal late in the period, but a BU challenge for offside on the play was upheld.
In the first minute of what would be a more evenly played second period, Charlie Trethewey's stretch pass sent Sacha Boisvert on a partial breakaway, but Cloutier defended his shot.
At the six minute mark, the Eagles' defensive pressure led to a second goal. They forced a turnover at the BC blue line and raced up ice 2-on-1. Dean Letourneau fed James Hagens for a one-timer past Yegorov.

Late in the period, the visitors extended their lead. Will Vote collected a puck behind the Terrier goal. When both defenseman pursued him, Vote centered the puck to Letourneau, BC's top scorer, all alone at the goalmouth. He flipped the puck past Yegorov for a 3-0 margin.

An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to Hagens at the end of the period put BU on the power play to begin the third and they quickly converted. Ben Merrill's five-foot pass gave Jack Harvey an open path . His partially deflected shot went off Cloutier's shoulder and into the net. It was his ninth goal. Cole Eiserman also assisted on the play.

Consecutive Terrier penalties blunted any momentum BU might have gained from Harvey's goal. Their best chance to cut into the Eagles' lead came on a BU man-advantage midway through the period. Boisvert's blast from the high slot just missed the cage.
Pandolfo pulled Yegorov for an extra skater with about two minutes left, but Brady Berard found the empty net to make it 4-1.
