Game Day: BU-Maine rematch; Inside BU Hockey; Women face the Huskies again

With last night's decisive win is in the rearview mirror, #14/13 Terriers will look to complete a sweep of #19 Maine, fully expecting to face much more bite from the Black Bears tonight. Puck drop is at 6 p.m. with ESPN+ providing the live stream.

BU has won the last six meetings with Maine at Agganis Arena and the last nine in Boston. Overall, the Terriers are 20-6-3 against Maine at Agganis.

In tonight's Terrier lineup, Kamil Bednarik returns as third-line center, while Viktor NΓΆrringer, who scored his first collegiate goal on a power play Friday, will be the extra skater.

On Episode Three of Inside BU Hockey, Bernie Corbett interviews men's ice hockey head coach Jay Pandolfo and freshman Xavier Villeneuve while Kat Cornetta interviews women's ice hockey assistant coach Ian Milosz and senior Neely Nicholson.

In his interview, Villeneuve relates how during the recruiting process the entire Terrier coaching staff flew to Quebec in a snowstorm to meet with him. He also addresses a budding relationship with Lane Hutson and that he is a Bruins fan.

► In case you missed it, here are BU Oldtimer's Terrier Takeaways.

1. When Jacob Rupert owned the Yankees, he said a perfect afternoon was to see the Yanks score 5 or 6 runs in the first inning, and gradually pull away. Such was last night’s game if you’re a BU fan.

2. In a continuation of last weekend’s performance, BU had solid breakouts and a strong fore check. Beyond those factors, they continued to disrupt opponent’s breakouts, creating excellent scoring opportunities.

3. Again, terrific chemistry on the forward lines.

4. For a guy who only had one point, Morello had an outstanding game.

5. It’s not often you see 4 clean breakaways in one period (3rd). Murtagh, Fondrk, Morello, Malhotra. None clicked.

6. Nitpicking or not, Maine still got inside the dots too often for my taste. Again losing battles and making turnovers behind the net and in the corners.

7. I hope I’m as optimistic about this team around 10:00 PM on the Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend. [After the Denver series]
