Linkorama



Captain Patrick Curry, and freshmen Domenick Fensore and Ashton Abel were named to the Hockey East weekly Top Performers list. Curry scored a pair of goals against BC, while Fensore tallied a goal against Merrimack and an assist against BC. Abel won his first NCAA start, stopping 27 of 29 shots, in the 3-2 win against Merrimack.



Former Terrier and U.S. Olympic gold-medal captain Mike Eruzione’s autobiography, “Making of a Miracle,” co-written by New York Times reporter and blog contributor Neal Boudette will be released on Monday, January 27. That evening, Eruzione will do a book-signing event at Bookends in Ridgewood, N.J., beginning at 6 p.m. (Details) The next evening, he’ll be at Book Review in Huntington, N.Y., for another book-signing (Details). 


On February 7, Eruzione will be at Agganis Arena for the BU-Merrimack game with signings planned before and after the contest.

Looking ahead

2020 recruit Drew Commesso stopped 10 of 11 shots for the NTDP U18s in a 6-1 win against a team of USHL top prospects in the BioSteel All-American game. Commesso played the first 30 minutes yielding only a power play goal deflected in by a diving defenseman. (Video) Luke Tuch had goal for Team USA and Dylan Peterson added an assist.

2021 recruit Lane Hutson’s penalty-shot goal was the game-winner in Team USA’s 8-2 win against Switzerland in the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne.  The defenseman, who plays for the North Jersey Avalanche U16s, also added an assist for Team USA, which will play Russia on Wednesday in the gold-medal game. Looking back  

Former standout Terrier defenseman Darryl Abbott died last week at his home in Guelph, Ontario. He was just shy of his 75th birthday. Abbott scored 14 goals and 50 assists in three seasons on the BU blueline. He is best remembered for scoring the tying goal late in the third period of the 1966 Boston Arena Christmas Tournament, beating Cornell’s Ken Dryden in a contest that ended as a 3-3 double overtime tie. BU and Cornell were both undefeated at the time and would later meet in both the ECAC and NCAA championship games, both won by Cornell.



Women’s Team

Terriers moved up a notch to #7 in the USCHO Weekly poll following a two-game sweep of Holy Cross.


Sophomore Mackenna Parker earned a spot on Hockey East’s weekly Top Performers list by scoring two goals and an assist against the Crusaders.
