BU’s
three-game winning streak came to an end with 5-4 loss to Dartmouth at
Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. BU held 3-0 and 4-3 leads in the first two
periods, but each time the Big Green responded by scoring in bunches.
Sam
Stevens gave BU an early lead converting a Jake Wise wrap-around attempt at the
two-minute mark. Three minutes later Gabriel Chabot took a David Farrance
cross-ice feed and wristed home a shot from the right circle. Then, at 13:19,
Chabot backhanded a pass to Matt Quercia in the crease for his sixth goal and a 3-0 Terrier lead.
After
a dominant 13 minutes, things changed quickly. A questionable call on Cam
Crotty led to a power play goal on a deflection, followed by scores from Matt
Baker and Quin Foreman 24 seconds apart, knotting the score at three apiece. Coach
Albie O’Connell replaced Sam Tucker with recent arrival Ashton Abel and the
period ended with the score tied.
Early
in the second Wilmer Skoog found himself unmarked with the puck behind the
Dartmouth net, lifted it and dished a lacrosse-style tally past Adrian Clark for a
4-3 lead.

Midway through the period, Drew O’Connor
beat Abel twice in 47 seconds to give Dartmouth the lead. BU appeared to score an equalizer late in the period when Crotty took a pass from Trevor Zegras and beat Clark, but it was called off for goalie interference by Patrick Harper. BU would outshoot Dartmouth 19-8 in the middle period, but Skoog’s
shot was the only one to find the net--and count.
The Terriers' futile attempt to mount a comeback in the third was complicated by three BU penalties.
