Full schedules unveiled; Red Hot Hockey tix on sale

With the launch of the 100th season of Terrier hockey just over a month away, BU has announced the team’s full 2021-22 schedule. The 34-game regular season schedule includes 16 home dates, 15 away games and three on neutral sites (Red Hot Hockey and the 69th Beanpot).

In addition, there are two exhibition games. Due to border restrictions, the previously-scheduled Oct. 2 home exhibition against McGill is replaced by one with Holy Cross on the same date at Walter Brown. BU will host the NTDP U18s on Dec. 11.

The 24-game Hockey East schedule features three match-ups with each of four opponents—BC, UConn, Maine and UMass—and two each with Lowell, Merrimack, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Providence and Vermont.

The schedule announcement notes that “Throughout the season, the program will honor its storied history with special nights and appearances by some of the all-time greats.”

Red Hot Hockey

Tickets for the eighth edition of Red Hot Hockey are now on sale through TicketmasterBU and Cornell will renew their rivalry at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, November 27, with puck drop set for 8 p.m. ET. The teams will compete for the Kelley-Harkness Cup, named for legendary coaches Jack Kelley of BU and Ned Harkness of Cornell.

Ross Gaudet's between-the-legs deflection of a Sean Escobedo pass in overtime gave BU a 2-1 win in the 2011 Red Hot Hockey game.

The Terriers lead the RHH series 3-2-2, although the Big Red won the past two contests.
