Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan, who will lead the U.S. Olympic Team in 2022, has named David Quinn and John Hynes as assistants on his staff for the Beijing games. And their team will be made up of NHL players, following an agreement between the league and the NHL Players Association.
The 2021-22 NHL season will pause from Feb. 3 through Feb. 22, encompassing the league all-star game and the Olympic games.
Quinn, a Terrier teammate of Sullivan for two seasons, was
the Rangers’ head coach for the past three campaigns. Hynes is Nashville’s head
coach and previously held that position with New Jersey. Both have extensive experience coaching numerous USA Hockey teams: Quinn, Hynes.

It’s quite likely there will be Terriers on the team roster as well with Charlie McAvoy, Jack Eichel, Brady Tkachuk and Joel Farabee among the candidates.
Hockey Journalist Chris Peters takes a crack at projecting the roster from his list of 44 players in a HockeySense substack article that is free---just for this weekend.

Looking back
Following two strong initial NHL seasons, Farabee has signed a six-year, $30 million extension with the Flyers. He had a team-best 20 goals last season while his 38 points were fifth best on Philadelphia. In his one season as a Terrier, he led the team in goals (17) and points (36)
