Freshman Tyler Boucher, drafted #10 overall by Ottawa in the NHL Entry Draft, joined the Locked On Senators podcast for an interview covering draft day, his decision to play at BU and some similarities with another Terrier power forward—and potential future teammate—Brady Tkachuk.

Hockey East Live Streaming
Hockey East has announced details for live streaming of 2021-22 season conference games. Each home Hockey East game will be streamed live for free on CollegeSportsLive. All games will be made available across the U.S. and internationally on SportsLive, while select games televised on NESN and NESN+ will also be made available on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app outside of New England. The USHL regular season launched on Thursday with several Terrier recruits in action.
2023 recruit Jack Musa scored a goal in Madison’s 6-3 loss to Des Moines. 2022 recruit Ryan Greene recorded an assist for Green Bay in a 5-2 win against Waterloo. 2022 recruit Michael LaStarza led the Blackhawks with five shots.

College Hockey Inc. has compiled a list of the 528 NCAA alumni on NHL training camp rosters. BU, with 27 former players on the list, is one of eight programs with more than 20. NCAA Digital’s Evan Marinofsky ranked the 10 best former college players currently in the NHL. He pegs Charlie McAvoy at #3 and Jack Eichel at #5. Six of the ten are Hockey East products including Cale Makar (UMass), Connor Hellebuyck (UM-Lowell), Johnny Gaudreau (BC) and Jeremy Swayman (Maine).

NHL veteran forward Alex Chiasson has signed a PTO contract with Vancouver ahead of training camp. A 2009 second-round draft pick of Dallas, Chiasson spent the last three seasons with Edmonton, producing a career-best 38 points (22G,16A) in 2018-19. The previous season, he won the Stanley Cup with Washington. The Montreal native led the Terriers in scoring in both 2010-11 and 2011-12 and finished his BU career with 99 points in 108 games.

Patrick Curry is on the roster of the Detroit Red Wings main camp. Last year he played with AHL Grand Rapids, scoring five points in 24 games.
Former Terrier captain Doyle Somerby is in the Minnesota Wild pre-season training camp on a PTO contract. Last month he signed a one-year deal with the team’s AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild. A 2012 New York Islanders draft pick, he played 24 games for AHL Tucson last year, as well as 17 games with ECHL South Carolina, helping the Stingrays reach the Kelly Cup finals.

Terriers, who began pre-season practices this past Monday, will play an exhibition game Saturday, hosting Holy Cross at Walter Brown Arena in a 3 p.m. start. The 27-woman BU roster includes 19 returnees, six freshmen and two transfers.
