Women tie in home opener; First pro goal for Farabee

In their home opener, the #10 Terriers settled for a 2-2 overtime tie with Merrimack at Walter Brown Arena. Prior to puck drop, BU raised the Beanpot Championship banner.

BU opened the scoring midway through the first period on freshman Julie Nearis’s first goal, converting the rebound of a Mackenna Parker shot. Kristin Schuler also assisted.  The Warriors countered with a power play goal at the 16-minute mark and took the lead three minutes later.

Early in the second period, Natasza Tarnowski knotted the score beating the MC defense to a puck that caromed off the end boards. She was assisted by Sammy Davis and Kaleigh Donnelly. BU dominated the visitors the rest of the way, outshooting Merrimack 11-4 in the second and 11-6 in the third, but couldn’t break the deadlock.

Goalie Corinne Schroeder stopped 21 shots for the Terriers who fired 35 shots.
