UPDATED: Game Day: Terriers host Red Raiders; IBUH #2; Lawrence's Draft Diary; Eichel from half court; Women visit Colgate

BU Game Day for October 10 at 7 PM vs. Colgate.

#3 Terriers will host Colgate for a two-game series at Agganis Arena beginning tonight. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. for the contest that will live stream on ESPN+.

BU and Red Raiders last met nine years ago this week (Oct. 8, 2016) in Hamilton, N.Y., with the Terriers producing a convincing 6-1 win in which Clayton Keller scored his first collegiate goal. Colgate’s only visit to Agganis Arena was a year earlier (Nov. 29, 2014) with a pair of Evan Rodrigues goals and three Matt Grzelcyk assists pacing a 5-2 win.

After last weekend's win against LIU, which Coach Jay Pandolfo acknowledged "wasn’t the prettiest of games that you’ll see," Terriers will be “Trying to figure out how we need to play and the consistency that goes into that."  BU also will seek to avoid joining the spate of upsets Thursday night of top-ranked schools. #1 Western Michigan, #2 Penn State and #4 Michigan State all lost on home ice to unranked teams.

In his weekly media call, Pandolfo confirmed that freshmen Conrad Fondrk and Carter Amico will return to the line-up. Fondrk is expected to skate with senior center Owen McLaughlin and junior Jack Harvey. Sophomore Sacha Boisvertwho left Sunday’s game with an upper-body injury, will be a game day decision. He has skated in practice and Pandolfo expects he’ll suit up.

UPDATE: Boisvert will not be in the lineup tonight. Lineup is below.

The Cole Eiserman-Boisvert-Ryder Ritchie line showed good chemistry against LIU, “and did most of their damage on the power play,” Pandolfo pointed out.

Colgate, who finished third in the ECAC last season, was hard hit by graduation, losing three of its top four defenders and five of its top seven scorers. College Hockey Insider slots the Red Raiders at #38 in its preseason rankings.

Three underclassmen are expected to power the offense: Max Nagel (24 points), Jake Schneider (15) and Niko Rexine (15). Senior Daniel Panetta is the top returning goal-scorer with 10.  Colgate’s defense will rely on ECAC Rookie of the Year Michael Neumeirer (20 points) and fellow sophomore Brett Merner (9).

Senior netminder Andrew Takacs posted a 2.77 GAA and a.903 save percentage in 32 games last season. For more on Colgate visit the College Hockey News ECAC Preview.
